About the Trossachs Bird of Prey Trail
For people looking for wildlife in Scotland, the instinct is usually to head north, or head west. The rugged mountains, moors and machair of the Highlands and Islands exerts a pull that few nature lovers can escape. And who could blame them! But right in the centre of Scotland lies an area of landscape that holds just as much wild appeal as almost any other part of the country, boasting towering mountains, fast-flowing rivers and quiet lochs .

The Trossachs Bird of Prey Trail runs right through the heart of this scenery, and is the perfect route for discovering the incredible wildlife that lives on the very edge of the Scottish lowlands.
Launched in 2004, and based on the route of the old Trossachs Trail (which you’ll see sign-marked along the roadside) the Bird of Prey Trail was developed as a partnership between organisations and local businesses keen to promote green and sustainable tourism in the Trossachs area. Linking facilities along its route, the Trail is an easily accessible and year-round destination, that holds appeal for people from all walks of life.
